NEXT STOP
Starting from the analysis of Claude Monet's painting La gare Saint-Lazare, we have discussed the themes of time, travel, uncertainty and new experiences. Besides the train in the picture, what catched our attention was the use of very contrasting colors. On one hand, the dark colour of the train and the smoke, on the other hand the lights in the background. Darkness represents the unknown and our fears, while the light symbolizes memories and past experiences that give us the strength to face the future. The first picture shows the Bologna train station and its tracks. It is a metaphor for our life, because we have several "paths" ahead and are asked to choose one. The second picture takes up the themes of the first image and compares them to the uncertainty brought by the school changes. The third image shows the enrichment that travelling and doing new experiences can give to our lives. Finally, the last image encourages to face the future with a confident and positive attitude.
