HIDDEN EMOTIONS

This project is aimed at primary school children. The aim is showing that each of us can have different emotive reactions in the same situation or event.

This itinerary starts from the painting Cotton Harvest by Candido Portinari, which portrays some people working in a cotton field sorrounded by a desolate landscape. The attention is immediately captured by the large black hat of the woman in the foreground. This dark and distinct detail stands out from the soft colors and undefined features of the other elements. Although it cathes the observer's eye, it also hides the woman's face, which may provoke different emotive reactions such as curiosity, surpriese or sadness. Thus, each observer may perceive this painting subjectively, in different ways.

In this exhibition, different interpretations of the same object are offered to the visitors, in order to make them experience the variety of emotions that can be aroused by the same detail.
