READING IN DIFFERENT WAYS

Description

At first glance, the female character of the painting Woman reading in the studio (1868) by Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot looks like extremely formal and rigid. The dull colors and gloomy atmosphere connote the act of reading as boring and tedious. Starting from this perception, we want to discuss with children possible different ways of reading and the feelings that this activity can arouse.

Together we have found different ways to show children that the act of reading is positive as it can be an opportunity to learn something new and spend time with others. Also, it is a creative and innovative experience.

Bibliography

Goodnight moon by Margaret Wise Browne (1947), which inspired the picture The beauty of reading all together.
